Donor families are those selfless individuals, who, in spite of their personal loss, look beyond their grief to help other human beings in need. Often, the pain is so overwhelming, that organ and tissue donation provides the only positive outcome in a devastatingly sad situation.
Donor families are from all walks of life, transcending cultural and socioeconomic barriers. And yes, while scientific advancement in organ and tissue transplantation should be acknowledged, it is the donor families who are true pioneers. It is our donor families who make transplantation possible. They set an example to all by affirming our mission in which we envision universal acceptance of organ and tissue donation. It is our donor families who said "yes" when they were asked to donate life. |
