Share your personal story
If you are a transplant recipient, the New York Organ Donor Network invites you to tell us about yourself. We particularly would like to hear from recipients who received organs from deceased donors.

Why did you need a transplant? How old were you at the time?

How long did you wait for a transplant and during that time, how did it affect the quality of your life?

How do you feel now that a transplant saved your life? What does it mean to your family and friends?

And how do you feel when you think of your deceased donor?

WHY DO WE WELCOME YOUR PERSONAL STORY?

By sharing with others, you will be an inspiration, especially to the members of donor families, other transplant recipients and those waiting for a transplant.

And your experience may encourage more people to become organ, eye and tissue donors.

As you know, there is a desperate shortage of organs and tissues. Many others weren't as fortunate as you because no organs could be found in time.

Your true story as a transplant recipient takes on even greater meaning this year, as the Donor Network celebrates 30 years of saving lives.

You can share your transplant story either by emailing us at mwoolf@nyodn.org or by writing to: New York Organ Donor Network, Attention: Martin Woolf, 132 W. 31st Street 11th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

We look forward to hearing from you.
